The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle (ACC) Lahore summoned Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Chief and Director Human Resources on Wednesday in connection with an inquiry against illegal transfers and postings in LESCO.
The FIA summoned the two officers along with the relevant records and got their statements recorded in the inquiry. However, the officers did not turn up until the filing of this news. It is worth mentioning here that an inquiry is underway in the FIA against the said officers.
The officers are accused of illegally posting and transferring many officers before the election. It should be noted that transfer posting is prohibited before the election, and no such order can be made without the permission of the Election Commission.
FIA has summoned the above officers along with the records in connection with the investigation. In this regard, LESCO Chief and Director HR have been summoned, and they have been asked to appear before FIA and record their statements.
The notice issued by the FIA has warned the officials that if they do not appear on time, they will be deemed to have nothing to say in their defense. The notice further said that in cases of non-attendance by the officers, unilateral action will be taken in light of the evidence available with the FIA.
The two officers were summoned at 1 pm on Wednesday and were also asked to bring all the records related to the allegations. Inquiry No. 176/23 against the officers under Section 160, Cr.PC, is pending before the FIA.
