On Thursday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted that Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan will see a widespread rain-windstorm/thunderstorm during the next 24 hours, along with severe snowfall over the hills.
The Meteorological Department reports that Lahore will have heavy rain today and tomorrow. Intermittent rain is still going on in various parts of the city, and the cold has returned.
Continuous rain is going in different parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. According to metrological department hailstorm is also expected in different area of the country. Wasa put on high alert after the forecast of the metrological department.
According to the MD Wasa they are monitoring all the major drains of twin cities including Nala Lai drain. Rain emergency is enforced and the staff holidays are cancelled.

In the coming 2 days rain and snowfall will continue in different parts of the chitral city, light snowfall started on the approaching roads of Lowari tunnel.
Road closures in Murree, Galiyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum valley, Bagh, Poonch, and Haveli on March 1 and 2 may also result from heavy rain or snowfall.
The administration of the Karachi city and district issued a warning following the forecast of heavy rain. It is expected to rain lightly during the day and heavily in the evening. Jamia Urdu announced a holiday for today and rescheduled the exams and papers.
The provincial government alerted the concerned departments. Chief Minister of Sindh imposed emergency and announced half working hours both in private and government institutions. The Deputy Commissioner also issued a notice to vacate the affected buildings in South District.

In interior Sindh the metrological department forecasts the continuous rain in the cities of Shikarpur, Sajawal, Rohri Sukkur and the weather is going to be cold again. Due to rain electricity disrupted in the Sajawal district.
Fishermen of Balochistan, Sindh should avoid going to the sea till March 4, according to the meteorological agency. The fishermen of Sindh claimed that they don’t get any prior notice regarding rains and thunder storm.
