Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur took the oath as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister in a ceremony held in Peshawar on Saturday.
KP Governor Ghulam Ali administered the oath to Gandapur at Governor House. On this occasion, the party leaders and workers attended the oath-taking ceremony in large numbers.
Gandapur had completed his graduation from Gomal University. It was from PK-113 (DI Khan) that Gandapur emerged victorious in the recently held general elections.
The newly-elected KP CM made it clear that the decision on the formation of the cabinet will be taken following consultations with the PTI founder.
– KP CM Gandapur imposes ban on recruitment –
Meanwhile, newly-elected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur imposed a ban on the recruitments.
In a letter penned to the KP chief secretary, it was mentioned that the KP CM had been directed to impose a complete ban on all kinds of recruitment except those cases that are already under process with the KP Public Service Commission with immediate effect.
“The undersigned has further been directed to convey that the above mentioned instructions of the chief minister shall be adhered to in letter and spirit.”
Earlier Gandapur, who is backed by the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), had been elected as the KP CM after securing 90 votes from the members of the new provincial assembly.
His opponent, PML-N's Dr Abdullah, secured only 16 votes in the election.
The session had been adjounred till Saturday.
