Tayyaba Raja, a prominent figure within the party, has openly criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for its decision to nominate Sanam Javed as a candidate for the Senate.
Taking to the social media platform X, Ms Raja voiced her concerns, stating that it's unjust to elevate one individual at the expense of disregarding the sacrifices made by others.
Expressing her discontent, Ms Raja highlighted the recurrent bail granted to Sanam Javed by the anti-terrorism court, raising questions about the legitimacy of such a process.
She pointed out that Ms Javed had been arrested eight times, yet managed to secure bail on seven occasions, prompting skepticism about the integrity of the judicial system.
Drawing comparisons, she cited the prolonged struggle of individuals like Aliya Hamza and Khadija Shah, whose bail was granted by the Lahore High Court after enduring a lengthy legal battle.
She questioned the plausibility of obtaining bail from the ATC, given the stringent criteria for such decisions.
The PTI leader also shed light on the disparity in media coverage, emphasizing the silence surrounding the struggles of many women within the party.
She urged patience, asserting that once Imran Khan returns, there will be a collective voice echoing these concerns.
