The Lahore High Court has been petitioned against the recent administrative meeting of the Punjab government, which was chaired by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
The petition, filed by citizen Mashkoor Hussain, contends that Nawaz Sharif, who holds no official administrative position, cannot preside over such meetings.
According to the petitioner, Nawaz Sharif chaired an administrative meeting of the Punjab government on March 18, during which various instructions, including those related to the Ramazan package, were issued to ministers, as per a handout issued after the meeting. The petitioner argued that Nawaz's involvement in administrative matters exceeds his authority and violates established procedures.

In the petition submitted to the Lahore High Court, Mashkoor Hussain emphasized that Nawaz Sharif's role in administrative affairs is unconstitutional and unauthorized. He urged the court to issue an order preventing Nawaz Sharif from presiding over any administrative-level meetings in the future.
The petitioner's plea raises questions about the separation of powers and the extent of political influence in administrative processes. It underscores the need for clarity regarding the roles and responsibilities of individuals holding political positions but lacking official administrative authority.
