Sources divulged on Friday that Chief Selector Wahab Riaz had decided to include a new member in the selection committee.
Razzaq had been contacted in this regard, said the sources.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to announce the selection committee soon.
He had compiled 1946 runs and bagged 100 wickets in Test matches.
Moreover, Razzaq had scored 5080 runs and picked up 269 in ODIs.
The 44-year-old had scored 393 runs and grabbed 20 wickets in T20Is.
