Istehkam-e-Pakistan (IPP) Patron-in-Chief Jahangir Tareen said that if PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif wanted to settle score with anyone, firstly he should return to the country.
He said that it is the right of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to announce the date of general elections. He raised no objection on ECP led new constituencies that will eventually be the base of upcoming general elections in January.
“ECP accepted our demand,” he said.
Tareen said that IPP has no complaint regarding the level playing field. He made these remarks in the backdrop of PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari statement urging level playing field for the upcoming elections.
He said Nawaz Sharif should not have taken name of any political figure—particularly name of the former army chief and the upcoming chief justice should not have been mentioned (in his statements).
“If Nawaz Sharif wants to settle matters with anyone, first come back to the country,” he said.
Tareen said IPP do not want individual attacks on anyone. He said election is inevitable and necessary for the integrity of Pakistan.
