The government's initiative to outsource domestic airports in Pakistan has garnered significant interest from international investors, with seven prominent entities expressing keenness in participating in the privatization process.
To facilitate further discussions and collaboration, the Ministry of Aviation has been tasked with organizing an online meeting with Pakistani ambassadors stationed in the countries of interest.
The outsourcing of domestic airports has attracted attention from investors representing Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Qatar, highlighting their willingness to engage in the privatization of airports within Pakistan.
Interest has also been expressed by investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Malaysia, and Turkey.
In response to this development, the aviation minister has directed to organise an online meeting where Pakistani ambassadors in the respective countries will be briefed comprehensively by the local aviation authorities. This briefing aims to provide ambassadors with detailed insights into the outsourcing plans and foster productive discussions with potential investors.

Furthermore, local investors have been encouraged to actively participate in the bidding process alongside international investors.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar have emerged as potential buyers for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), signaling a significant interest in acquiring the national carrier.
This development comes as the Pakistani government seeks to privatize PIA to address financial difficulties. Government officials have reportedly held talks with high-level representatives from these Gulf countries, briefing them on details of the potential acquisition.
Sources reveal that authorities from these Gulf countries have intensified communications with the Pakistani government regarding the potential purchase of PIA.
