The President of the All Punjab LPG Association, Abdullah Mohmand, has vehemently rejected the new rate notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
Expressing discontent, he emphasized that while announcing rates is crucial, it is equally vital for the government to ensure gas supply at official rates throughout the supply chain.
In a statement, the All Punjab LPG Association president criticized the government for its failure to fulfill this responsibility, particularly in light of the significant natural gas shortage in Pakistan, which is being compensated through imports.
He urged the government to take control of locally produced LPG, blend it with imported LPG, and distribute it to marketing companies at official prices.
Abdullah Mohmand underscored that until the government devises a comprehensive policy to manage both import and local production, the official rates cannot be deemed acceptable.
He further highlighted the repercussions of setting rates solely based on local production, likening it to economic injustice and emphasizing the adverse impact it has on small LPG vendors.
Asserting their stance, the All Punjab LPG Association categorically rejected the new rates set by OGRA, signaling their dissatisfaction with the current regulatory framework.
