Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong on Thursday called on President Asif Ali Zardari.

Gen Asim Munir extended his congratulations to President Zardari for assuming the role of president and supreme commander of the Pakistan Armed Forces, acknowledging the significance of his new position.
During the meeting, the COAS briefed the president on the Army's relentless operations against terrorism, underscoring its readiness to counter conventional threats effectively.
The COAS highlighted the Army's substantial contributions to developmental initiatives, particularly in the Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions.
President Zardari lauded the pivotal role played by the Pakistan Armed Forces, emphasising their indispensable role in safeguarding the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He commended the Army's endeavours towards social upliftment in affected regions, underscoring their commitment to national advancement.
