The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expected to announce T20I squad for the upcoming New Zealand series on Tuesday (April 9).
The national selection committee will announce the squad through a press conference. Sources divulged that it is expected that an 18-member squad will be announced for a home series.
Usman Khan, Imad Wasim, and Mohammad Amir will also be part of the squad.
Meanwhile, Irfan Niazi and Abbas Afridi are also expected to get the opportunity to represent Pakistan.
Other players who are likely to become part of the squad are Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Zaman Khan.
It would be Abrar Ahmed or Usama Mir, who will be selected, whereas pacer Haris Rauf will be dropped due to the injury.
According to sources, Salman Ali Agha, Sahibzada Farhan, Mohammad Wasim, and Fakhar Zaman will also be part of the squad.
The team management is expected to be announced within two days.
Moreover, the foreign head coach will be announced after April 15. Meanwhile, the assistant coach will be announced on April 20.
Meanwhile, the local coaches will take up the responsibility during the forthcoming home series against New Zealand.
Pakistan and New Zealand will lock horns against each other in a five-match T20I series, slated to be held on April 18.
