Supreme Court's Justice Yahya Afridi on Tuesday recused himself from the bench in connection with the case of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges’ letter.
In Justice Yahya Afridi's special note, it was mentioned that the six judges had discuss the arrangement of the code of conduct in their letter, and any judicial action on administrative matters will have a negative impact. The Supreme Court should refrain from taking this matter to a judicial level.
The note stated that the high courts have administrative powers under the constitution.
It was said that the chief justice of the high court or other judges did not exercise their powers.
Justice Yahya Afridi asked the Supreme Court to not exercise the power of Article 184(3) .
It was reported that Justice Athar Minallah of the Supreme Court had also add an additional note, while the written order may soon be released on the Supreme Court's website.
