Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday visited Miran Shah and Spinwam in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan Agency, to celebrate Eid with troops.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), beginning with Eid prayers at the frontline, the COAS prayed for lasting stability and prosperity in Pakistan.
He extended heartfelt Eidul Fitr greetings to the troops, praising their unwavering dedication and service to the nation.
Following this, Gen Asim Munir received a detailed briefing on operational readiness and the prevailing security situation, with a particular focus on border security measures along the Pak-Afghan Border.
Recognizing the formation’s significant efforts in promoting peace and stability, the Army Chief attributed these achievements to the sacrifices of martyrs, which have created a secure environment conducive to socio-economic development, especially in the Newly Merged Districts and across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Highlighting the detrimental impact of terrorism on development, the COAS stressed the collective need to preserve the hard-earned peace. He urged all stakeholders, particularly the local population, to remain vigilant against adversarial elements seeking to destabilize the region.
“Stay steadfast in your professional duties in service to the nation," he added. Earlier, upon arrival, the COAS was warmly welcomed by Commander Peshawar Corps.
