Nepali batter Dipendra Singh Airee smashed six sixes in an over in the T20I match against Qatar, becoming the third batter to achieve the feat in Al Amerat on Saturday.
Airee's blazing innings saw him reach the milestone against Qatar's bowling attack, emulating the feats of cricket legends Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard.
Just like Yuvraj's iconic assault on Stuart Broad in the 2007 World Cup and Pollard's onslaught on Akila Dananjaya in 2021, Airee's blitzkrieg lit up the cricketing world.
While the likes of Herschelle Gibbs and Jaskaran Malhotra have achieved this feat in one-day internationals, the realm of Test cricket has yet to witness such fireworks.
Facing the final over of the innings, Airee, with Nepal standing at 174 for 7, seized the opportunity as Kamran Khan took the ball.
With sheer audacity, he dispatched each delivery beyond the boundary ropes, culminating in a sensational unbeaten 64 off just 21 balls.
This remarkable performance propelled Nepal to a formidable total of 210 for 7, securing a convincing victory over Qatar by 32 runs in the ACC Men's Premier Cup match.
Notably, this wasn't the first time Airee had achieved this feat. He had previously dazzled against Mongolia in the Asian Games, albeit across two overs.
As Nepal gear up for their second T20 World Cup appearance, with matches lined up against the Netherlands, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, Airee's heroics serve as a testament to the burgeoning talent within the Nepalese cricketing ranks.
