Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday unequivocally distanced itself from the recent remarks made by party's leader Sher Afzal Marwat concerning Saudi Arabia.
In a statement issued by the party's spokesperson, PTI expressed its disapproval of Marwat's stance, asserting it as entirely incongruent with the party's position on Saudi Arabia's role in regional affairs.
The spokesperson emphasised that Sher Afzal Marwat's comments do not reflect PTI's strategy or standpoint in any manner. They reiterated that Marwat's views, perceived as indifferent towards Saudi Arabia's role in a purported regime change operation, are solely his personal opinion and do not garner support from PTI's leadership or grassroots.
"Saudi Arabia stands as one of Pakistan's closest and most trusted allies in the Islamic world," the PTI spokesperson affirmed. "The founding principles of PTI underscore the utmost value placed upon Pakistan's relationship with the Saudi government and its people."
Highlighting the significance of the bilateral ties, the spokesperson emphasised the mutual respect and trust shared between PTI's founder, Imran Khan, and the Saudi Crown Prince. PTI is committed to fostering and enhancing the cooperation and brotherhood between the two nations.
The statement comes amidst a backdrop of heightened attention on regional dynamics, with Pakistan reaffirming its commitment to bolstering ties with its longstanding ally, Saudi Arabia. PTI's stance seeks to reinforce the enduring bond between the two nations while reaffirming Pakistan's dedication to regional stability and cooperation.
