The prices of chicken in parts of the country skyrocketed to Rs780 per kg on Tuesday.
According to details, the prices of shopkeepers in Gujranwala have begun selling chicken at will, disregarding the official government rate of Rs 680 per kg.
The local administration officials and the price control magistrate failed to enforce government prices.
Like other cities in the country, in Faisalabad too, the price of chicken had soared beyond the masses' expectations.
Within a month, after an increase of Rs25, it had reached up to Rs750 per kg.
