Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that the prices of petroleum products would not be reduced for the next fortnight.
According to details, the premier chaired a meeting of the federal cabinet. On this occasion, approval of an amendment to the Petroleum Products (Petroleum Levy) Ordinance 1961 on the recommendation of the Petroleum Division was granted.
Moreover, approval of the Sustainable Investment Sukuk Framework for the issuance of domestic securities was also given.
Approval of sending the bill for the establishment of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority to Parliament was confirmed.

The reduction in prices of petroleum products in the global market would not be passed on to the consumers, the prime minister said.
“This money would be used to double the most important highway, the N-5 of Balochistan,” PM Shehbaz said.
The prime minister directed the restoration of the national highway of Balochistan to the standards of a motorway.
“The same savings would also be used to complete Phase 2 of the Kachhi Canal,” PM Shehbaz said.
“Hundreds of acres of land in Balochistan would be irrigated with this project,” PM Shehbaz added.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti was present during the cabinet meeting.
CM Bugti thanked the premier for the development projects aimed at improving the living standards of the people of Balochistan.
