Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers took to the streets in the city after Friday prayers against alleged election rigging in the 2024 general elections.
A heavy police force was deployed in Lahore and Islamabad to avoid any untoward incident.
Lahore Police arrested over 50 PTI workers in a crackdown in different areas of the city. The Police raided the houses of PTI workers and PTI ticket holders.
According to the police, the crackdown occurred in Shahdara, Sadar Bazar, Garhi Shahu, and other areas. Lahore police claimed that the arrests were made because of concerns about affecting the law and order situation.
