The IT sector witnessed a record boost in exports on Saturday under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
According to details, the country's IT revenues soared to a peak of $306 million in March. During the initial nine months of 2024, IT revenues totaled $2.28 billion, marking a year-on-year increase of 17 percent.
At the start of the financial year 2024, IT revenues were $2.28 billion, with an increase of $275 million during March 2024, constituting a 37 percent rise.
Meanwhile, the IT and telecom sector is one of the key areas within the purview of the SIFC. The progress in the IT sector is attributed to the solid efforts facilitated by the SIFC.
Significant incentives had been provided to the IT sector through the efforts of the SIFC.
In addition to the increase in dollar inflows facilitated by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), other measures were also included to enhance the investment environment.
According to the Ministry of Finance's projections, IT revenues were expected to increase to $3.5 billion during the fiscal year 2024.
