Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) MNA Asad Qaisar claimed that the public have buried the narrative of the May 9 incidents and alleged that it was a 'drama' orchestrated by the Punjab IG and Mohsin Naqvi.
Asad Qaiser reiterated his stance to establish a judicial commission to probe the May 9 incidents.
Commenting on parliamentary affairs, Asad Qaisar said his party wanted to see a strong parliament and an independent judiciary in the country so that the judiciary could make independent decisions. He emphasized the importance of the rule of law in the country.
The former speaker of the National Assembly questioned under which law PTI was not allowed to hold meetings and vowed to hold public gatherings in Lahore and Karachi.
The SIC leader said that despite serious concerns and reservations, his party wanted to run the affairs of the Parliament, and for that, the government had to provide their democratic rights.
Earlier, the Lahore police decided to include former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in the investigation process about the main cases of May 9 vandalism.
Police said: "Chaudhry will be made part of the investigation in connection with the statements of the arrested accused. The evidence of Chaudhry's involvement has been found in the statements of the arrested accused."
The police officials said: "Chaudhry has been granted interim bail in all the cases. Chaudhry has not become part of the investigation in some cases."
