Tandoor owners in Lahore have stopped implementing the new prices of bread and bread, the Muttahida Nanbai Association has announced a shutter-down strike from May 8.
Punjab government in a campaign to implement new prices of Roti fined hundreds of tandoors across the province and also sealed dozens of tandoors for not selling Roti at Rs16 and Naan at Rs20.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Aftab Gul, president of the Muttahida Nanbai Association, in which a large number of tandoor owners participated and decided that selling nan at Rs20 and roti at Rs16 was equal to ‘economic murder’ of the tandoor owners.
The tandoor owners announced they would not accept under any circumstances for an indefinite period from May 8.
Aftab Gul said it was not possible to implement the fixed new prices of roti and nan by the Punjab government.
