Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday received Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the deputy PM and Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations, trade, and investment. The talks also covered cooperation in energy, mining, aviation, and other sectors.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Qatar Investment Authority and Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalifi. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the dire situation in Gaza.
Ishaq Dar commended Qatar's efforts to mediate the Palestine-Israel conflict and emphasized the need for an independent Palestinian state to ensure peace in the region. The Qatari minister conveyed Prime Minister Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim al-Thani's message, reaffirming Pakistan's unwavering support.
The meeting highlighted the importance of economic diplomacy in transforming bilateral relations into a mutually beneficial economic partnership.
The foreign minister also met with Swiss Ambassador George Steiner, exploring opportunities to boost cooperation in trade, investment, and other areas. He praised Swiss companies operating in Pakistan and invited further investment.
