Government and military forces have launched a large-scale campaign against drug dealers, aiming to eradicate the menace of drug addiction from the country.
In a recent operation, authorities seized a staggering 1,028,904 kg of drugs nationwide, apprehending 1,352 individuals involved in the illicit drug trade.
From April 28 to May 5, important seizures were made across various regions. In Balochistan, 2,799 kg of drugs were confiscated, including 2,194 kg of hashish, 14 kg of heroin, 7 kg of opium, 3 kg of methamphetamine, and 581 other substances.
Similarly, 20 kg of drugs, including 10 kg of hashish, were recovered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Gilgit-Baltistan saw the seizure of 17 kg of drugs, predominantly hashish and opium.
In Punjab, 37 kg of drugs were seized, comprising 28 kg of hashish and 7 kg of opium. Meanwhile, in Sindh, authorities confiscated 245 kg of drugs, with a significant portion being methamphetamine.
The authorities have reiterated their commitment to ongoing efforts to completely eradicate the drug trade from the country, signaling a determined stance in the fight against narcotics.
