The Sindh government postponed on Sunday the intermediate exams across the province, including Karachi, due to the intense heat wave gripping the region.
The exams, which were originally scheduled to start on May 22, will now begin on May 27. The decision was taken on the recommendation of Minister of Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ali Malkani, and approved by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
A notification has been issued by the Universities and Boards to effect the change in dat . Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert, warning of extreme temperatures in the plains of Punjab and Sindh.
The heat wave has already caused widespread discomfort and health issues, and the postponement of exams is a timely decision to ensure the well-being of students.
