Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended an invitation to Chinese investors to establish industries in Pakistan, highlighting the significance of China as a crucial partner in Pakistan's economic development.
The premier chaired a high-level review meeting aimed at enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and China across various sectors. The meeting, which focused on strengthening bilateral economic relations, included discussions on proposals to deepen collaboration between the two countries.
Prime Minister Sharif, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in agriculture, information technology, and energy sectors, expressed the desire to increase Pakistani exports to China.
Assuring support to Chinese industrialists and investors, the PM pledged to provide comprehensive security measures to ensure the safety of Chinese residents living in Pakistan. He underscored the government's commitment with a comprehensive plan already in place to safeguard Chinese citizens.
He also emphasized preparations for the next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), adding that Gwadar port would be developed into a logistics hub in collaboration with China. Additionally, the establishment of Agriculture Demonstration Zones under CPEC was highlighted as an important project.
As part of the meeting's outcomes, the ministries concerned were directed to prepare for new projects and initiatives aimed at fostering business-to-business relations between Pakistan and China. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed the importance of proactive measures to boost economic ties and ensure the successful implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
