Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has reiterated the nation's unwavering resolve to eradicate terrorism and extremism. He emphasized the significant challenges Pakistan faces, highlighting the country's ongoing war against terrorism.
"Pakistan has suffered immensely at the hands of extremism," Asif said while addressing an anti-extremism conference in Islamabad. "Our fight against terrorism is relentless, and we are determined to bring an end to this menace."
The minister underscored the extensive measures taken by the government and reiterated that it was necessary to dismantle terrorist hideouts and eliminate extremist elements within the country. "We are determined to end terrorism and extremism," he stressed.
Asif praised the relentless efforts and sacrifices made by Pakistan's armed forces in combating terrorism. "Our armed forces have made countless sacrifices in this battle. Their bravery and commitment are unparalleled, and they continue to be at the forefront of our fight against these threats," he said.
He also highlighted that Pakistan faced several challenges, including terrorism, and added that the National Action Plan to end terrorism was implemented successfully.
Asif called for unity among the populace, stressing that collective effort is crucial to overcoming terrorism. "We all must stand united against terrorism. It is only through our combined efforts that we can achieve lasting peace and security," he asserted.
He also claimed that there was evidence of the involvement of cross-border elements in terrorist incidents inside Pakistan.
