In response to the recent reduction in petroleum prices, the Islamabad District Administration has taken a significant step to alleviate the financial burden on commuters.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, in collaboration with transport unions, has announced a reduction in public transport fares.
Following discussions with representatives from the transport union, the Deputy Commissioner has decreed a reduction of Rs 10 for journeys exceeding 30 kilometers.
To ensure transparency and accountability, it has been mandated that all public transport vehicles display the revised fares prominently on their front screens.
Emphasizing the importance of compliance, the Deputy Commissioner has warned of strict action against vehicles failing to implement the reduced fares.
To enforce this decision effectively, all assistant commissioners have been tasked with monitoring vehicle fares starting from tomorrow.
