The Jashan-e-Baharan Sports Festival, organized collaboratively by the Pakistan Army and Civil Administration, recently concluded in the popular tourist destination of Arang Kel. The vibrant festivities ran from May 30 to June 2, attracting local residents as well as a significant number of tourists from across Pakistan.
The festival showcased a variety of sports, including tug-of-war, archery, paintball, and photography competitions. Cricket tournaments and polo matches added to the excitement, drawing athletes from all over Azad Kashmir.
The closing ceremony, graced by Brigade Commander Kel as the Chief Guest, saw a large turnout, including representatives from the Government of Azad Kashmir, civil and military officials, and numerous tourists.
The event commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by performances by children from the Army Public School, Kel, who presented national songs and cultural shows.
The audience was captivated by singers performing traditional Kashmiri and Pashto songs. Outstanding athletes were honored with medals, honorary shields, certificates of appreciation, and cash prizes.
In his address, the chief guest praised the organizers for their efforts in making the festival a success. He emphasized the Pakistan Army's commitment to supporting the local community and promoting tourism in Azad Kashmir.
Highlighting Arang Kel as an ideal spot for tourism and sports, he stressed the need for public-private partnerships to develop basic facilities at tourist destinations, which would, in turn, create better employment opportunities for the local population.
Residents of the area expressed their gratitude to the Pakistan Army and the district administration for the successful execution of the festival, welcoming the positive impact on both tourism and the local economy.
