Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the establishment of two crucial Cabinet Committees in a significant move aimed at accelerating economic reforms.
The first committee, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif himself, is dedicated to overseeing the implementation of pending recommendations within the jurisdiction of the Special Initiatives and Finance Committee (SIFC).
This committee comprises ministers from all priority sectors of SIFC, with the Finance Minister also in attendance. Notably, special invitations have been extended to the Army Chief, Provincial Chief Ministers, and the National Coordinator.
With a focus on streamlining processes and ensuring swift decision-making, SIFC will extend secretarial support to this committee, which will subsequently submit its decisions to the federal cabinet for approval.
Additionally, the Prime Minister has spearheaded the formation of a second Cabinet Committee focusing on Immigration, Overseas Employment, and Technical Vocational Education and Training.
This committee, comprising eight members, including key ministers and officials, will serve as a central forum for addressing issues related to overseas employment and technical training.
Key responsibilities of this committee include formulating policies, approving monitoring frameworks for vocational training institutions, and engaging with international partners to foster collaboration and exchange of expertise.
