Karachi is bracing for a day of partly cloudy, hot, and humid weather as Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted that the maximum temperature today could reach a scorching 37 degrees Celsius and as of now, the current temperature stands at 31 degrees Celsius.
Humidity levels are high at 70 percent, contributing to the uncomfortable weather conditions. Winds are blowing from the southwest at a speed of 15 km per hour, offering little respite from the heat.
The Meteorological Department has also indicated that the hot and humid weather will persist over the next 24 hours.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak hours.
In addition to the heat, Karachi is grappling with significant air quality issues. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI), Karachi is ranked 16th among the most polluted cities in the world. Within Pakistan, it is the 6th most polluted city, with a Particulate Matter (PM) record of 82.
