Parents of Sepoy Rashid Mehmood, who tragically lost his life in a recent terrorist attack in Lakki Marwat, have expressed profound emotions of pride and grief over their son's martyrdom.
"I am not afraid of terrorists. I have two more sons and I can sacrifice them on the soil of this country," declared the mother of Shaheed Sepoy Rashid Mehmood, her voice trembling with both sorrow and defiance. "My son is a martyr and I am very proud of him," she added, tears welling in her eyes.
Speaking about the last conversation with his son, Sepoy Rashid Mehmood's father shared, "When he called me before Eid, he said, 'I will come and do the sacrifice myself.' This sacrifice was his own, and he became dear to Allah."
The pride and admiration for Rashid Mehmood were palpable in his father's voice as he reflected, "I have three sons but Rashid was my most obedient and serving son."
The memories of Rashid Mehmood's kindness and thoughtfulness echoed through the words of his mother, who recalled, "Whenever my son came home on Eid, he brought gifts for everyone." She shared a poignant childhood memory, "As a child, my son took a toy from a fair and told me, 'Mom, I'm going to fight a war.'"
Recalling a conversation about his aspirations, she added, "I asked my son, who are you going to fight, so my son said that I am going to fight with India."
For Rashid Mehmood's father, the pride in his son's sacrifice transcended personal loss. "I am very proud that I am the father of a martyr and my son sacrificed his life for this country," he expressed with unwavering resolve. "If this is a country, then we are; if it is not a country, then we have no name or sign."
Reflecting on Rashid Mehmood's character, a close friend shared, "Whenever my friend came home, he used to visit us specially, he treated the children very lovingly and kindly."
