The Pakistan Tanners Association has reported that approximately 6.8 million animals will be sacrificed in Pakistan during this year's Eid-ul-Azha.
This includes 2.8 million cows, 3.3 million goats, 165,000 buffaloes, and 99,000 camels. The value of the skins from these sacrificial animals is estimated to be around Rs6 billion.
Specifically, cow skins are expected to contribute Rs4.29 billion, with each skin valued at Rs1,500. Goat skins are estimated to add Rs1.4025 billion, with each skin valued at Rs425.

After chemical processing, the total worth of these hides is projected to reach Rs18 billion. If further processed into leather products such as shoes, the value could rise to Rs35 billion.
Due to the high cost of animals this year, many people may prefer to contribute to shared sacrifices. Despite this, the economic impact of the sacrificial hides remains significant.
