Addressing the need for robust security measures, Sharif advocated for legislative reinforcement to bolster security institutions and close legal gaps that may facilitate terrorism.
"We must announce an end to these legal loopholes and combat false propaganda," he declared, highlighting the imperative to ensure that falsehoods do not overshadow truth.
Shehbaz Sharif noted that there should also be clarity of purpose in political and religious ranks in the war against terrorism. This is our war and we have to fight it to protect our future generations.
He said we have to move forward with consensus and mutual consultation whilst rising above political differences to achieve our goal.
The Prime Minister said kinetic response is not the only solution to this menace but we also have to undertake non-kinetic measures in order to counter the narrative of terrorists.
The prime minister stressed active diplomacy with the regional countries in order to tighten the noose around the terrorists.
In a poignant moment, Sharif condemned those who have poisoned social discourse with divisive rhetoric, labeling speaking against the nation as the gravest of crimes.
He proposed stringent laws aimed at fostering unity and quelling divisive forces within society.
"We must enact laws that promote harmony and extinguish hatred," Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif concluded, calling for concerted efforts to safeguard the nation against external threats and internal discord
