On Pakistan's failure in the World Cup, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi said that those responsible in the selection committee for making wrong decisions will be held accountable.
The decision to remove Babar Azam from the captaincy has not been made yet, he said.
Gary Kirsten's report has been received and PCB was getting in touch with former cricketers for the improvement of the game.
“Pakistan's failure in the World Cup, the possibility of starting surgery from the selection committee,” he said.
PCB chairman acknowledged that there were flaws in the World Cup selection committee 2024 and indicated action on it.“There were wrong decisions in the selection, those responsible will be held accountable,” Mohsen Naqvi said.
“It will be known soon who will remain in the selection committee and who will not. No decision has been taken to withdraw the captaincy from Babar Azam,” Mohsen Naqvi said.
“I also felt mistakes were made by Babar Azam,” Naqvi maintained.“Hasty, angry decisions are harmful,’ Naqvi cautioned. The reasons for the failure of the World Cup have been mentioned in the report of Gary Kirsten. “Those former cricketers whose livelihood is not TV channels will take over the system,” Mohsen Naqvi said.
“There will be a post-mortem in the central contract, it will be subject to fitness,” Mohsin Naqvi said.
“The players will have to give all the fitness tests,” the PCB chairman said. He clarified that no NOCs will be found for the league before the Bangladesh series.
“International cricketers also have to play domestic cricket for selection in the team,” he said.

Mohsin Naqvi said Bangladesh will be hosted by Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Multan stadiums. “I discussed the improvement of cricket with Shan Masood,” he told a media person in an informal interaction.
