DSP Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Ali Raza was martyred on Sunday evening after unidentified assailants opened fire on him near Karimabad.
According to police reports, the attack occurred when DSP Ali Raza was traveling through the Karimabad area. Unidentified gunmen fired multiple rounds at his vehicle, critically injuring him.
The police recovered 11 shell casings from the scene, indicating the use of 9mm firearms.
DSP Ali Raza was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where medical professionals made strenuous efforts to save his life. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Rescue sources confirmed that the DSP had been shot in the head, a wound that proved fatal despite the medical intervention.
In addition to DSP Raza, another individual, a security guard of a nearby building, was also injured during the incident. He is currently receiving medical treatment, and his condition is reported to be stable.
Chief Minister Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, has condemned the attack and termed it an act of terrorism. He has directed the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) CTD and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident and present a detailed report.
The Chief Minister emphasised the necessity of swift justice and the apprehension of those responsible for this heinous crime.
