Pakistani security forces have conducted extensive anti-narcotics operations across the country since September 2023, resulting in the seizure of 1,043 metric tons of narcotics and the arrest of 1,612 drug dealers.
The operations, initiated by the government of Pakistan and military leadership, have led to the confiscation of 3.52 metric tons of heroin and 45.18 metric tons of hashish. Additionally, authorities have seized 3.65 metric tons of methamphetamine, 8.55 metric tons of opium, and 982 metric tons of other narcotics.
In July alone, security forces confiscated varying amounts of drugs across different regions: 1,094 kg from Balochistan, 133 kg from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5 kg from Gilgit-Baltistan, 2 kg from Punjab, and 73 kg from Sindh.
Relevant agencies have expressed their commitment to continuing these operations with the aim of completely eradicating narcotics from the country.
