Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court, challenging the legality of Punjab government’s recent imposition of Section 144.
The party’s Lawyers Wing President, Zubair Ahmed Kisana, has made the Punjab government and other relevant parties respondents in the petition.
The petition argues that the Section 144 order, which prohibits large gatherings, was implemented on July 25, just one day before PTI’s planned rally on July 26.
Kisana contends that the Punjab government’s action was made with malicious intent, aiming to undermine the rally and violate citizens’ constitutional rights.
He requested that the Lahore High Court declare the Section 144 notification null and void, asserting that the rally was organized in accordance with constitutional and legal provisions.
