President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the appointment of two former Supreme Court judges, Justice (R) Tariq Masood and Justice (R) Mazhar Alam Mian Khel, as ad hoc judges for a period of one year.
This decision, made under Article 182 of the Constitution, aims to enhance the court’s capacity to deliver justice efficiently.
Justice Tariq Masood and Justice Mazhar Alam Mian Khel, both retired, have extensive experience from their previous tenures in the Supreme Court, and their return is expected to bolster the court's capacity to handle its caseload effectively.
The appointment of these experienced judges is expected to bring expertise and depth to the Supreme Court, enabling it to tackle complex cases effectively.
Their addition will help reduce the burden on existing judges and ensure timely disposal of cases.
