An important development has surfaced in the murder of PTI leader and private hospital owner Dr. Shahid Sidduqe in Lahore wherein Organized Crime Unit (OCU) Iqbal Town detained Qayyum — son of the deceased for allegedly facilitating the murder of his father via shooters.
Police sources claimed the OCU team detained Qayyum Shahid on ‘concrete evidence’ who allegedly killed his father with the help of a shooter.
The case of Dr. Shahid's murder was registered in the complaint of his second son Taimur.
As per the FIR, son Qayyum and brother Sajid were also with Dr. Shahid and when Dr. Shahid started sitting in his car, the shooter came and opened fire.
“Son Qayyum was in front of his car,” the FIR reads.

Qayyum, the son of prominent PTI leader and Orange Hospital owner Dr. Shahid Siddiq, stands accused of orchestrating his father's murder. According to police reports, Qayyum, along with a close friend Shehryar, allegedly planned and executed the attack after Dr. Shahid Siddiq refused Qayyum's desire to marry a girl of his choice.
The incident, which unfolded in Lahore, involved multiple attempts on Dr. Shahid Siddiq's life, with the first murder attempt reportedly planned for five million rupees. Despite surviving the initial attack in January, Dr. Shahid Siddiq fell victim to a subsequent assault, allegedly organized for two crore rupees.
Police investigations revealed that Qayyum and his accomplice tracked Dr. Shahid Siddiq's movements closely, even following him while he distributed money to deserving individuals. CCTV footage implicated Qayyum in the planning stages, linking him to the suspicious white car observed near the scene of the crime.
Following Dr. Shahid Siddiq's tragic death, Qayyum had been vocal about seeking justice and notably led his father's funeral prayers. The case has sparked widespread shock and condemnation, highlighting issues surrounding family disputes and the extreme lengths some may go to in seeking their desires.
Authorities continue their investigation into this tragic and disturbing case, aiming to bring justice to Dr. Shahid Siddiq's untimely demise and uncover the full extent of those involved in the conspiracy.
Dr Shahid Siddique, owner of a prominent private hospital and local leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was tragically killed outside a mosque in Valencia Town, Lahore.
The incident occurred shortly after Friday prayers when an unidentified assailant fired four shots at Dr. Siddique.
According to police reports, Dr. Shahid Siddique was targeted outside the mosque, where he had just completed Friday prayers.
The motive behind the attack is under investigation, with authorities launching a thorough inquiry into various aspects, including the possibility of targeted killing.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab, Usman Anwar, has ordered immediate action to apprehend the perpetrator(s), directing all available resources towards swiftly resolving the case.
The IG has also sought a detailed report from the DIG Operations regarding the incident.
