The export of medicines from the country increased 3.90% during the financial year 2023-24 due to the export-friendly policies of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the export of medicines worth $341 million during the current financial year is encouraging as compared to $328 million in the last financial year. In terms of quantity also, the exports of medicines increased by 44% from 5,900 metric tonnes to 8,500 metric tonnes.
On a year-on-year basis, the export of pharmaceutical goods in the month of June was 33% more than the amount in the same month last year.
According to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, pharmaceutical exports were recorded at $29 million in June 2024 as compared to $22 million in June 2023.
Growth in pharmaceutical exports is a prime example of the SIFC's cooperation in this industry. The council’s support to the economic development of the country is the guarantee for a safe and strong Pakistan.
