In a gesture of goodwill and solidarity, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI), hosted a dinner at his Islamabad residence in honor of Dr. Salah bin Muhammad, the Imam of Masjid Nabawi (PBUH).
The event was attended by notable figures including Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed al-Maliki and a delegation accompanying the Imam.
During the dinner, Dr. Salah bin Muhammad expressed his deep appreciation for Pakistan, describing it as a country he holds dear. He highlighted the strong bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, stating, “Pakistan is Saudi Arabia and Saudi Arabia is Pakistan,” reflecting the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations.
The evening began with the Maghrib prayer offered at Maulana Fazlur Rehman's home, setting a respectful tone for the gathering. Maulana Fazlur Rehman welcomed the distinguished guests and thanked them for their presence, underscoring JUI's commitment to anti-sectarianism, anti-extremism, and moderation as a historic religious and parliamentary party in Pakistan.
Notable attendees included Chairman Senate Yusuf Raza Gilani and Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, who also participated in the event. The dinner served as a platform to reinforce the strong ties and mutual respect between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, celebrating the shared values and collaborative spirit of the two countries.
