One person has died and 11 others, including children, have been severely injured in a grenade attack in Quetta.
The incident occurred close to the train station, where unknown attackers on bikes threw hand grenades before making their escape.
According to the police, unidentified assailants on motorcycles threw hand grenades in the vicinity and swiftly fled the scene.
The explosion resulted in the death of Siraj Ahmed, while the injured—identified as Salman, Haris, Furqan, Abdul Waheed, Siddiqullah, Qudratullah, Khizr, Muhammad Umar, Ajwa, and Iqra Bibi—were immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital's trauma center for medical treatment.
Unfortunately, young ones are also among the casualties of the attack. The malicious motives of the terrorists were clear as they aimed at individuals congregating near the train station to observe Independence Day.
Authorities revealed that the attackers hurled two grenades; the first landed on the railway track without causing any damage, but the second exploded in front of the station, targeting people who were out to enjoy the Independence Day lights. Police confirmed that the injured include several children.
This terrible event comes after five bomb blasts occurred in Quetta yesterday, resulting in three deaths and ten injuries. The city is in shock due to these senseless acts of violence, causing residents to feel fearful and uncertain.
