Real Madrid secured a 3-0 victory over Real Valladolid in their La Liga clash on Sunday, marking their first win of the season.
The match, held at Santiago Bernabeu, saw goals from Fede Valverde, Brahim Diaz, and debutant Endrick, while star signing Kylian Mbappe made his home debut without getting on the score sheet.
Valverde opened the scoring with a deflected free-kick in the 50th minute, breaking a stalemate that had plagued the first half. Madrid, who had struggled to create chances before the break, showed improved urgency in the second half. Brahim Diaz added a second goal with a neat lob in the 88th minute, and Endrick wrapped up the win with a drilled finish in stoppage time.
Despite dominating possession, Real Madrid's attack lacked sharpness in the first half. Aurelien Tchouameni's long-range effort was the only notable chance before Valverde’s breakthrough. Mbappe had a couple of opportunities to mark his debut with a goal but was thwarted by Real Valladolid's Estonian goalkeeper Karl Hein and missed another chance wide.
Mbappe, who joined Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, is yet to score in his first two La Liga appearances. Coach Carlo Ancelotti remains confident in his forward’s ability, praising his movement and potential. "He’s a spectacular forward who will score goals, whether he plays centrally or from the left," said Ancelotti.
Endrick’s debut goal was a promising start for the young Brazilian, who showed his potential with a decisive finish. "He’s very dangerous in small spaces and showed his quality with his goal," Ancelotti noted.
