Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Friday urged the federal government to provide the poor segment of society with "substantial" relief.
According to details, CM Murad chaired a meeting to address the matters in line with the power bills. On this occasion, Federal Power Minister Awais Leghari attended the meeting via online.
Leghari said: "We [center] working on providing temporary relief. We will formulate the plan for providing relief to the masses and share it with the provinces. The Sindh chief minister should share his proposals with us.".
"The federal government is looking forward to providing relief to the masses on the electricity bills," maintained Leghari.
Expressing his thoughts, CM Murad stated: "We want that the federal government should provide relief to the poor power consumers. There is a need to provide relief to the weaker segment of society on the electricity bills permanently."
"We need to reduce our energy production cost as it will provide the masses relief," CM Murad stated.
He was of the view that the relief should be given to the people consuming up to 500 power units.

Earlier on Thursday, CM Murad on Thursday assured cheap electricity for the weak segments of the society.
Expressing his thoughts, CM Murad said: Nowadays, everybody is facing hardships due to the exorbitant power bills. We are having the plan of reducing the power prices.".
"We are going to distribute the 200,000 solar panels in Sindh," he said.
Taking a dig at other provinces in connection with the cheap electricity, CM Murad said: "Other provinces have to bear the brunt following taking any decisions."
