Noted singer Abrarul Haq lavished on Friday his praise on Javelin star Arshad Nadeem on Friday, giving Rs1.5million to the Olympic gold medalist.
Addressing the press conference flanked by Nadeem, the "Assan Jana Mall-o Mall" singer said: "Arshad Nadeem had brought good news for the masses, who are facing a multitude of challenges, including the economic crunch.".
"Arshad Nadeem has waved the national flag after clinching a gold medal for the country, which came after 44 years of waiting," Haq said.
"I had announced to give a small reward [Rs1.5million] to Arshad Nadeem. We have named the Sahara sports after Arshad Nadeem," said the "Dilbaron Ki Basti Mein" singer.
Meanwhile, expressing his thoughts, Nadeem expressed his gratitude to Haq and his family for getting the reward from the "Bhangra" maestro.
"Those who embrace hard work, devotion, and humbleness reap benefits," he said.
Haq said: "The kind of respect I got, will further improve my prowess."
Stressing the need for rallying behind every sportsperson, Nadeem said: "All the sportsperson will uplift their games if they get support."
He acknowledged the talent in the country, saying, "There is an immense talent in Pakistan."
Nadeem said; "One could emerge as successful by embracing the hard work and passion."
