The government on Saturday announced massive hike in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices for September 2024, impacting households across the country.
According to the notification, the price of LPG has been increased by Rs 6.99 per kilogram, leading to an increase of Rs 82.54 for a standard domestic cylinder.
The new pricing structure sets the cost of a domestic LPG cylinder at Rs 2,879.10, compared to the previous price of Rs 2,796.56 in August. The revised prices will take effect from September 1, as per the official notification.
This increase in LPG prices is expected to strain household budgets, particularly for families relying on LPG as their primary source of cooking fuel. The price hike is attributed to fluctuations in international oil markets and rising costs associated with the import and distribution of LPG in Pakistan.
