Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has expressed his gratitude to the Pakistan government for approving development projects worth over Rs19 billion, which include the completion of the Mirpur-Islamgarh bridge and the Out of School Children Programme.
Speaking to journalists in the state capital on Wednesday, Haq announced that Youm-e-Tahaffuz-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwat (Day to Protect the Belief in the Finality of Prophet Muhammad PBUH) will be observed at the official level in AJK on September 7. He said that before the National Assembly, the assembly of Azad Kashmir had passed the resolution for Khatam-e-Nabuwat.
He stressed the importance of national unity and the protection of the younger generation from intellectual confusion.
The prime minister also outlined several initiatives, including providing subsidized flour, affordable electricity, and reaffirmed his dedication to the cause of Kashmir's accession to Pakistan. He further revealed plans for reforms in recruitment processes and social protection programs.
AJK ministers Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq and Diwan Ali Khan Chaghtai also expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for approving these projects, which they believe will significantly boost AJK's development.
He further said his government had undertaken many miraculous projects in a short period of 15 months.
Chaudhry Anwarul Haq said there was uneasiness after the formation of the coalition government in Islamabad, but it was not the fault of the present government. There were two good news from the people of Azad Kashmir on mega development project: the Jagran project related to Neelum was also finished and electricity was to be generated from it. The revival of finished projects is more difficult than new project, he maintained.
