Five Pakistani officers were martyred on the sixth day of the September 1965 war with India. The officers included Captain Islam Ahmad Khan, Major Fakhar Alam Khan, Major Muhammad Munir Khan, Major Muhammad Sarwar, and Captain Khalid Hamid Lodhi.
Captain Islam Ahmad Khan was martyred fighting bravely at Devi Pur near Akhnoor in occupied Kashmir. Major Fakhar Alam Khan captured 14 enemy artillery guns before his tank was hit. Major Muhammad Munir Khan advanced deep into enemy territory before succumbing to an anti-tank rifle burst near Najalay Chak.
Major Muhammad Sarwar was approaching Akhnoor when his tank caught fire after being hit. Captain Khalid Hamid Lodhi was moving towards Akhnoor after securing victories in Jaurian when he was struck by enemy fire.
These officers' actions played significant roles in the Pakistani offensive towards Akhnoor during the 1965 war.
