In a bid to improve transparency and effectiveness in economic planning, the Planning Ministry and Planning Commission have established a high-level Policy Board.
The board, comprising a diverse group of experts from various sectors, including industry leaders, academic experts, and international professionals, will provide advisory on policy formulation and strategy development, offer guidance on promoting mid and long-term economic growth, and evaluate national plans and economic reports.
Speaking at the first meeting of the Policy Board, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal stressed the importance of private sector participation in improving the Planning Commission's performance.
He highlighted the board's role in developing strategic frameworks and preparing short, medium, and long-term plans to achieve the government's vision of a trillion-dollar economy by 2035.
The Policy Board members expressed their support for the government's initiatives and recognized the significant impact of this collaboration on Pakistan's economic development.
