The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources of the UAE has announced that a holiday will be observed on Sunday, September 15, in honour of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday.
This holiday applies to the federal government, as per the cabinet's decision on official holidays for this year.
In many Islamic countries, including those in the Gulf region, the Prophet's birthday is traditionally celebrated on 12th Rabiul Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar.
Following this holiday, UAE residents can look forward to an extended break in December for National Day. With December 2 and 3 falling on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, residents will enjoy a four-day holiday when combined with the weekend.
